The School Board will meet on Sept. 21 at 7 pm, at Nesbit Elementary School, located at 500 Biddulph Way in Belmont. At this meeting , the New Shores School Advisory Committee will give a presentation to the School Board regarding its recommendation for the new school site. Redwood Shores voters resoundingly approve Measure C to build a new school |
68% of Redwood Shores voters issued a resounding mandate in the November 2005 election in favor of Measure C, a $25 million Special Facilities Improvement bond which needed 55% voter approval to pass. |

Why do we need another school in Redwood Shores? |
|
Redwood Shores has an excellent neighborhood school - Sandpiper Elementary - but it is our only neighborhood school and is overcrowded and overenrolled. Since Sandpiper opened in 1997, the number of school-age children in the Shores has risen dramatically. There isn’t enough classroom space for all Shores students and the problem will worsen as children who already live here reach school age. |
